Classes & first steps
Do I need any dance experience?
The weekly group classes start at advancing beginner level. If you’re brand new, ask ShaCoda about the right starting point before joining.
Do I need to bring a partner?
Partner arrangements vary by class or workshop. Ask about joining on your own before attending.
Which dance styles does ShaCoda teach?
Salsa (On1 and On2), Bachata, Cha Cha, and Merengue. If you’re unsure where to start, ShaCoda can help you choose.
Where and when are classes held?
Weekly classes meet at Sara Dance Center: Salsa on Wednesdays, and Salsa and Bachata on Fridays. View the weekly schedule for times and levels, and ask ShaCoda about pricing and joining.
How much do classes cost?
Private lessons are 60 minutes: $75 for one person or $110 for a couple, with 4- and 8-lesson packages available. The Weekend Workshop Series is $30 for one workshop or $40 for both. For weekly group class pricing, contact Michele Garden, Owner of Sara Dance Center, at 941-812-7311. Private or custom workshops and event appearances are priced on request.
Can ShaCoda teach at our event or school?
Yes. ShaCoda leads dance lessons at festivals and dance events, teaches at schools and community events, and leads drop-in classes at dance socials. Private or custom workshops for your group are available too. Pricing is available upon request.
Does ShaCoda also teach Zumba?
Yes. ShaCoda leads an hour-long Zumba class at Crunch Fitness in Bradenton. Ask for the current schedule and participation details.
Music & dance events
How can I practice between classes?
Revisit your steps with Salsa and Bachata in the Listening Room, or explore the Events page for a local dance night.
Can I keep listening while I browse the website?
Yes. Start a song, then choose “Back to the site.” The mini player keeps your music going as you browse. Refreshing, closing the tab, or leaving the site ends the session.
Are all the events listed here hosted by SalsaSoul Productions?
No. The guide also includes independent studios, venues, and organizers. Open an event for its location and organizer links, and confirm the latest details before you go.
How do I confirm the next date of a recurring event?
Follow the organizer or venue links to confirm the next date, especially for events held every other week. Holiday schedules may differ.
DJ & MC services
Can I book ShaCoda to DJ my event?
Yes. ShaCoda DJs Latin dance socials, weddings, and private events. DJ services are $75–$100 per hour, with MC services included. Share your date and plans to check availability.
Can ShaCoda also be our Master of Ceremonies?
Yes, and MC services are included in the DJ rate. ShaCoda can host introductions, announcements, and special moments while keeping the crowd engaged.
What should I include in a booking inquiry?
Include the date, venue or city, occasion, guest count, and music preferences. Let us know whether you need a DJ, an MC, or both.
